In real life Fighting Squadron 17 (VF-17) was formed on January 1st of 1943 at Norfolk, VA. For our purposes VF-17 was formed on September 19th of 2002. It was formed to fly in the online game of Ace's High (developed by Hitech Creations).

In order to be a member of "The Jolly Rogers" you must pass carrier qualifications and be voted in by the members of the squadron after a trial period of 2 weeks with the squadron. For me I believe that an online squadron needs to be friends first and all else will fall into place. VF-17 does not have an age requirement to join but we do like to know how old our members are.
